Radially Excited AdS5 Black Holes in Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons Theory
نویسنده
چکیده
In the large coupling regime of the 5-dimensional Einstein–Maxwell–Chern–Simons theory, charged and rotating cohomogeneity-1 black holes form sequences of extremal and non-extremal radially excited configurations. These asymptotically global Anti-de Sitter (AdS5) black holes form a discrete set of solutions, characterised by the vanishing of the total angular momenta, or the horizon angular velocity. However, the solutions are not static. In this paper, we study the branch structure that contains these excited states, and its relation with the static Reissner–Nordström-AdS black hole. Thermodynamic properties of these solutions are considered, revealing that the branches with lower excitation number can become thermodynamically unstable beyond certain critical solutions that depend on the free parameters of the configuration.

متن کاملEinstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons Black Holes
5-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory with Chern-Simons coefficient λ = 1 has supersymmetric black holes with vanishing horizon angular velocity, but finite angular momentum. Here supersymmetry is associated with a borderline between stability and instability, since for λ > 1 a rotational instability arises, where counterrotating black holes appear, whose horizon rotates in the opp...
متن کاملNon-uniqueness, Counterrotation, and Negative Horizon Mass of Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons Black Holes
Stationary black holes in 5-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory possess surprising properties. When considering the Chern-Simons coefficient λ as a parameter, two critical values of λ appear: the supergravity value λSG = 1, and the value λ = 2. At λ = 1, supersymmetric black holes with vanishing horizon angular velocity, but finite angular momentum exist. As λ increases beyond λSG ...
متن کاملRotating Black Holes in Higher Dimensions
The properties of higher-dimensional black holes can differ significantly from those of black holes in four dimensions, since neither the uniqueness theorem, nor the staticity theorem or the topological censorship theorem generalize to higher dimensions. We first discuss black holes of Einstein-Maxwell theory and Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory with spherical horizon topology. Here new typ...
متن کاملThree-dimensional Chern-Simons black holes
We construct black hole solutions to three-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell theory with both gravitational and electromagnetic Chern-Simons terms. These intrinsically rotating solutions are geodesically complete, and causally regular within a certain parameter range. Their mass, angular momentum and entropy are found to satisfy the first law of black hole thermodynamics. These Chern-Simons black ho...
